Epic announced in his annual wrap-up article that the third-party game income at the Epic game store had increased by 57 per cent over the same period, that the length of third-party play had increased by 4 per cent and that it had recorded 78 million active users in December. The game store currently contains over 6,000 games. Epic states that the player spent $400 million on third-party games and emphasizes that this data does not include in-house purchase transactions through third-party stores (Epic stores do not draw off such transactions). The total annual expenditure for the Epic store was $1.16 billion.

The head-PC game on the platform in 2025 included Fort Night, Battery Breaking: Star Dome Road, Rocket Alliance and The Gods. The second team consists of EA SPORTS FC 26, Exodus Zero, GTA 5, Dawn Killer and Infinite Warming. Epic did not provide specific game sales.

Despite the increase in active users in December as a result of the award of the Legacy of Hogwarts, the year-round total player game length of 6.65 billion hours decreased by 14 per cent each year, mainly as a result of the first-party game decline. Analysts had previously warned that real-time service games such as Fort Night had reached their limit. The total length of third-party games grew by 4 per cent to 2,780 million hours. Epic stated that its monthly free game programme was “imperatively photoring effect for the entire PC ecosystem”, noting that when a game was free at the Epic store, its online player on the Steam averaged 40 per cent. In 2025, players received a total of 662 million games through the scheme, of which more than 77 per cent recorded the highest number of simultaneous onlines in history during the promotion period. Epic claims that the development of his “Epic First Run” program has achieved a “historical high” – The scheme provides a 100 per cent share of income for the first six months of the game at the Epic store, but no specific data are published. In October 2025, the company launched a “webshop” service for PC and mobile ends, using the Epic Electrician platform and providing developers with the first $1 million in revenue-free commissions, which was subsequently restored to 88/22.

Despite this, Epic still lags behind Steam in terms of income, the second largest. A survey last November showed that for most developers, Steam contributed more than 75 per cent of their income. In an interview with Steve Allison, the General Manager of Epic Shop, stated that his objective was not “subversion” to Steam. “Our growth does not depend on monopolistic games”, he said, “Our growth will come from changing the sales share of games that are distributed simultaneously on two platforms.” Income and Participation in 2025 Players spent $400 million (+57 per cent) on Epic third-party PC games Total third-party game hours: 2.78 billion (+4 per cent) Total PC players spent $116 million (+6 per cent) on Epic stores Total game hours: 6.65 billion (-14 per cent) Cross-platform accounts: 972 million (+8 per cent) Total PC players: over 317 million Active users in December 2025: 78 million (+6 per cent) Average monthly active users: 67 million (-1 per cent) Average daily active users: 31 million (-2 per cent) Free Game Number of free games: 100
